Chris Ross Hurls No-No Against Cedar Rapids
Sunday, June 5th , 2044
The Bowling Green Hot Rods were just hoping for a solid outing from Chris Ross. Instead, they got something special.
The 20-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Cedar Rapids Kernels, helping the Hot Rods take the 11-0 win.
"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Hot Rods. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."
Ross's repertoire has a changeup, fastball, slider, and curveball, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Cedar Rapids hitters off balance all game long. The Bowling Green hurler fanned 15 and walked 2 in his history-making performance.
"His changeup looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Cedar Rapids manager Tom Bartlett joked after the game.
Currently Ross has a 7-3 won-lost record in 12 starts with a 4.57 ERA. He also has 68 strikeouts in 69 innings.
