News Goes From Bad to Worse for Coplon
Monday, June 27th , 2044
This is not how William Coplon wanted his career to end -- with an injury. He wanted to go out on his terms. Instead, a torn labrum has forced him to retire from baseball. The Hagerstown reliever plans to meet with the media later this afternoon. In the meantime, he released a brief statement, in which he acknowledged the support of "the organization, the training staff, my teammates, and all the fans."
To this point in the season Coplon has no saves in 18 relief appearances with a 2-2 record and 5.82 ERA.
