Grasshoppers End Toyota's Streak Sunday, August 28th , 2044 Ichiro Toyota's 23-game hitting streak was snapped today at Dozer Park. The 18-year-old Peoria Chiefs center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats in the game against the Greensboro Grasshoppers, but Peoria came out the winner, 11-1. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Ichiro," Chiefs manager Evan Longoria said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." Presently Toyota is batting .326 and has collected 1 home run, 18 RBIs, .395 OBP and scored 32 runs. |
