Guadalupe Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Cubs Thursday, September 1st , 2044 Santos Guadalupe was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 21-1 Great Lakes Loons triumph at Dow Diamond today. The 24-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Loons past the South Bend Cubs. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Guadalupe told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The shortstop went 3-for-5, rung up 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Santos Guadalupe struck out in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Eric Allen in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Shuan-yan Wu in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Jason Scott in the 7th. In 114 games Guadalupe is hitting .309 this season with 122 hits, 9 home runs, 39 RBIs, 28 walks, .361 OBP and has scored 66 runs. |
