Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Friday, September 2nd , 2044 Angel Mejia of the Fort Wayne TinCaps and Mokichi Furuta of the Atlanta (MID) Braves will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 2 and 6 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent TinCaps-Braves game at Parkview Field. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Mejia and Furuta will begin serving them soon. In 119 games Mejia is hitting .298 this season with 124 hits, 14 home runs, 67 RBIs, 49 walks, .376 OBP and has scored 79 runs. This season to date Furuta has a record of 2 wins and no losses with a 2.83 ERA, has appeared in 5 games and struck out 24 in 35 innings. |
