5-for-7 Game for Newman
Wednesday, September 7th , 2044
West Michigan third baseman Dusty Newman had a day to remember today, 5-for-7 against the Lexington Legends at Fifth Third Ballpark as the Whitecaps picked up a 25-2 victory.
"He was patient up there today," West Michigan skipper Robert Ray told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly aggressive. Newman has a tendency to chase bad balls sometimes."
Dusty Newman singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 8th.
Newman is currently batting .324 with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs.
