Boynton 5-for-5 for RiverDogs
Friday, October 7th , 2044
The Bowling Green Hot Rods might think twice next time about pitching to James Boynton.
At Bowling Green Ballpark today, the Charleston RiverDogs second baseman burned Bowling Green pitching, going 5-for-5 in a 9-5 Charleston triumph.
"When he's on his game," Charleston skipper Lewis Brinson told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
James Boynton singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Eric Smith in the 5th, singled in the 7th and tripled in the 10th.
This year Boynton has batted at a .328 pace with 181 hits, 21 home runs, 102 RBIs and scored 115 times.
