Peoria Takes Division Championship in Deciding Game
Thursday, October 20th , 2044
Midwest League pundits who figured the Division Championship between the Peoria Chiefs and West Virginia Power would go the distance were right on the mark.
The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Peoria coming out on top thanks to a 2-0 win in the deciding game at Dozer Park, to wrap things up 4-3.
"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Chiefs center fielder Ken Compton, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Compton had 10 hits for a .333 average. He had 0 home runs, 1 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes.
