NYP Player of the Week Goes to Olmstead of Tri-City Monday, August 8th , 2044 22-year-old Justin Olmstead made a few Tri-City headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and McNamara Division officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 14 hits in 28 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Olmstead collected 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 13 runs. This year Olmstead has hit at a .268 pace and produced 52 RBIs, 5 home runs and scored 72 runs. |
