Tuesday, August 16th , 2044
Paul Lewis of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers put on a pitching clinic today at Melaleuca Field as he struck out 17 Idaho Falls Chukars in a 25-1 victory. Lewis, who is tied for 4th in the NYP with a 11.7 K/9 rate, was simply magnificent as he held the Chukars to 4 hits. He walked 0.
"I felt okay at the beginning," Lewis said, "but eventually my fastball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Lewis's performance, Scrappers manager Declan Wiebe shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
This season-to-date Lewis has 9 wins and 8 losses and a 4.29 ERA.
