Wednesday, September 7th , 2044
Josiah Leath roughed up Boise Hawks pitching in a big way at Baseball City Complex today, leading the Cincinnati (NYP) to a 11-1 win.
With his parents and family watching from the stands, the 24-year-old second baseman put on a magnificent show, hitting for the cycle -- collecting a single, double, triple and home run in the same game.
"It was a good day for that to happen," a beaming Leath said after the game. "I really got some good looks and delivered. Sometimes you're just on."
He finished his historic day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.
Josiah Leath singled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Juan Vargas in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
Presently Leath is hitting .242 with 2 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has played in 71 games and scored 24 times.
