Siebecker Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Sunday, September 25th , 2044
After a 5-hit effort to lead Tri-City's 23-1 victory over the Idaho Falls Chukars, right fielder Vinny Siebecker told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the New York-Penn League-level is really something special."

The 23-year-old player earned his accolades today at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Chukars.

"His swing is getting there," said ValleyCats skipper Bryant Crocker, who spoke glowingly of Siebecker after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Vinny did that to perfection today."

Vinny Siebecker hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jeremy Haun in the 6th, grounded out in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Siebecker's current batting average stands at .269 and he has chalked up 15 home runs and 74 RBIs.
