The future appears bright for the Boise Hawks relief ace, who captured the award with 20 saves in 69 relief appearances, 133 strikeouts in 97 innings and a record of 7-3 to go with his 1.76 ERA. He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Victor Medina of the West Virginia Black Bears finished second in voting, while Omar Orosco of the Rome Braves finished third.
