"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Chicago (WIN) left fielder went 3-for-5 against Minnesota (WIN) with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the White Sox to the 12-1 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Juan Concepcion flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Matt Springer in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Edwin Sanchez in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Orlando Guapo in the 8th. This season Concepcion is batting .370 with 6 home runs. |
