Maina and Borell Suspended for Free-for-All Friday, January 1st , 2044 After an intense confrontation, both the Reds Saulo Maina and the Cubs Mike Borell were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Cincinnati (WIN)-Chicago (WIN) game. Saulo Maina will miss 4 games, while Mike Borell was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Saulo Maina commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Thus far this year Maina is batting .348 with 9 home runs, 28 RBIs and 23 runs scored. This year Borell has fanned 15 in 34.2 innings and collected a 0-4 record with a 7.27 ERA. |
