Monday, February 1st , 2044
The Oakland (WIN) Athletics were paced by a strong offensive output from Sakae Kasahara as they downed the Washington (WIN) Nationals 3-2 to win the Divisional Series.
Oakland (WIN) won the final game by a score of 4-2 at Space Coast Stadium to send themselves off to the League Championship.
"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said first baseman Kasahara, who was named MVP.
For the series, the MVP hit .444 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Oakland (WIN) Athletics will play against the Toronto (WIN) Blue Jays in the next round. Toronto (WIN) won their series against the Texas (WIN) Rangers 3 games to 1. The League Championship schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
