Four-bagger Feast: de Vries Slugs 3 for Houston
Friday, August 5th , 2044
Houston second baseman Addick de Vries blasted three homers today at Minute Maid Park in the 10-7 Astros victory over the Boston Red Sox.
For the game, Addick de Vries scored 3 times and knocked in 5 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant de Vries when he reached home plate.
"It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 4-for-5, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful de Vries told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day."
Addick de Vries flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Justin Stinson in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Danny Klomp in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Adam Schneidewind in the 8th.
This year de Vries has hit at a .253 clip with 105 hits, 23 home runs, 59 RBIs and 72 runs scored.
