No Hits for Rogers, Streak Ends at 34 Thursday, August 18th , 2044 Robbie Rogers's 34-game hitting streak was snapped today at Progressive Field. The 29-year-old Boston Red Sox designated hitter failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats in the game against the Cleveland Indians, but Boston came out the winner, 5-4. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Robbie," Red Sox manager Rob Diederichs said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." So far this year Rogers has hit .333 with 9 home runs, 51 RBIs and 96 runs scored. |
