Chien and Sedlacek Fight, Get Suspended Monday, September 12th , 2044 After an intense confrontation, both the Mariners Bi-jun Chien and the Angels Ben Sedlacek were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Seattle-California game. Bi-jun Chien will miss 5 games, while Ben Sedlacek was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Bi-jun Chien commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." For the year Chien is batting .276 with 21 home runs, 63 RBIs and 67 runs scored. On his stats sheet for the year Sedlacek shows a 1-8 record, 15 starts, 56 innings, 53 strikeouts and a 7.71 ERA. |
