Pirates Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Saturday, September 17th , 2044 The Pittsburgh Pirates will soon be packing their bags and heading home for the year. The 2044 season won't involve a playoff run for the club, as Pittsburgh was mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today. This is the club's 10th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2034.In total, the Pirates have missed the playoffs 138 times in their 158-year history. Pittsburgh has won the World Series 5 times in their history. |
