Razor-Sharp Salas Blanks Montreal Saturday, September 24th , 2044 Ricky Salas was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the Chicago White Sox hurler tossed a 5-hit, complete game shutout against the Montreal Expos. "I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Salas. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings." Salas walked 0 and struck out 6 in the 6-0 victory. This year Salas has compiled a 17-7 record with a 3.32 ERA in 32 starts.
