Postseason Bid Ends for Baltimore Thursday, September 29th , 2044 It's not quite the championship run that fans in Baltimore might have envisioned. The Baltimore Orioles were mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. "There are a lot of good clubs in Major League Baseball and unfortunately we couldn't quite make it into that elite group this year," said Orioles manager Jim White. The Orioles have missed the playoffs 128 times in their 144 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 2nd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2042. In the last 10 seasons, the Orioles have missed the playoffs 6 times.
