Party's Over: Hyman Retires in Minnesota
Saturday, October 29th , 2044
It's a somber day for Twins fans as Buster Hyman announced that he will retire at the end of the 2044 season. The Minnesota catcher attributed his retirement to his age and loss of skills.
"I'm not the type of player I want to be anymore," he said. "It's harder go out there and be competitive. I'm not at the end of my rope yet, but I've seen guys hang around too long. I'm not going to be one of them."
Hyman has played in 2450 games with a .288 career batting average and 2596 hits. He also has scored 1610 runs and driven in 1580 runs with 453 home runs.
