When Raul Almonte jogged in from the bullpen this season, opposing teams knew they were going to have a tough time putting up runs.
The San Diego Padres starting pitcher turned in a dominant campaign and has been named the National League Reliever of the Year winner for 2044.
His award-winning season saw the bullpen ace get 16 saves in 87 relief appearances, 133 strikeouts in 122 innings and only 23 walks. He had a record of 5 wins and 3 losses to go with his 1.92 ERA.
"I hope I can pitch like this every year," he said.
