AL Best Mound Performer Named Sunday, November 20th , 2044 Javy Falcon of the Rangers humbled hitters all season long and today celebrated as he hauled in the American League Pitcher of the Year trophy, the coveted Cy Young Award. The Texas hurler held opposing hitters to a .193 batting average while putting up a 21-1 record and a 1.89 earned run average. He started 30 games, pitched 209.1 innings and struck out 288. He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jeremy Hernandez of the Boston Red Sox finished second in voting, while Larry Tuckfard of the Seattle Mariners finished third.
