Nichols Takes Home NL Cy Young Award Sunday, November 20th , 2044 Reece Nichols joined an elite group of pitchers today by picking up the National League Cy Young Award for 2044. The 28-year-old hurler finished the year 20-4 for the Washington Nationals, piling up 231.2 innings, registering 236 strikeouts and walking 20 on his way to a solid 2.41 ERA. He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Gerardo Amendoeira of the San Diego Padres finished second in voting, while Unkei Wakamatsu of the Chicago Cubs finished third.
