Smashing Success: Chew Wallops 3 HR
Thursday, August 4th , 2044
The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Gang-sheng Chew did today at Field of the Devils, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 7-6.
"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Chew said. "Good things happen, when that happens."
The New Jersey Devils third baseman blistered the Brockton Rox for 3 hits, batted in 6 runs and scored 3 times.
"It ain't like we weren't trying," Brockton manager Doug Brockett said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today."
Gang-sheng Chew flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Austin O'Connor in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Chris Deans in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Joseph Anderson in the 9th.
So far this season Chew is batting .299 with 50 home runs, 104 RBIs and 64 runs scored. He has 78 hits in 261 at-bats, 30 walks and a .377 OBP. Chew has played in 72 games.
