Bower Bashes 5 Base Hits Sunday, September 4th , 2044 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Tijuana's 19-14 win over Portland today, right fielder Joe Bower was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Oregon Baseball Complex. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Bower said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Joe Bower singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Chris DePalma in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Adam Hefner in the 9th. Bower is batting .339 this season in 80 games with 21 home runs, 68 RBIs and 67 runs scored. He has 101 hits in 298 at-bats. |
