5-for-7 Day for Soto Tuesday, September 6th , 2044 It was a good day for the Red Wings at Canton Ballpark as they clipped the Canton Indians, 21-8. It was tremendous day for Tony Soto, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-7. "I don't know what to call that," the Detroit third baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well." Tony Soto hit a solo-shot off Howard Allen in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Costodio Varino in the 9th. Soto is hitting .313 in 2044 with 68 RBIs and 26 home runs. |
