Hits Galore: Salafia Drills 5 Hits Wednesday, September 21st , 2044 It was a sensational day at the plate for Steve Salafia as he led the charge to a 23-7 win over the Colt .45's. The Oakland second baseman was pure misery for the Houston pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Salafia put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Gregory Guerrero, manager for the Colt .45's, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Steve Salafia flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and walked in the 9th. Salafia is hitting .299 for the season with 7 home runs, 62 RBIs and 90 runs scored. He has 115 hits in 384 at-bats and played in 101 games. |
