Jackson 5-for-6 for Blue Crabs
Thursday, September 29th , 2044
Southern Maryland left fielder Daniel Jackson had a big day at Winnipeg International Baseball & Gold Complex today against the Winnipeg Goldeyes. The 19-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Blue Crabs to a 14-2 triumph over Winnipeg.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Jackson said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Daniel Jackson doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far this year, Jackson is batting .402 with 19 home runs and 97 RBIs.
