Ridin' High: Santanello Hits for Cycle
Saturday, October 1st , 2044
In an outing that will go down in the annals of baseball history, Paris first baseman Brad Santanello hit for the cycle today as the Cubs marched to victory over the Canton Indians, 21-13.
Santanello collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, including 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run. He added 9 runs batted in and 4 runs scored to help Paris take the Paris Baseball Complex contest.
"It was the last thing on my mind, really," Santanello said. "I'm out there trying to get a blooper or a walk or whatever might help the team. Even if I had wanted to, hitting for the cycle is probably as much about luck as about skill anyway."
Brad Santanello hit a sac fly in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Nate Souza in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 5th and flied out in the 8th.
In his season totals, Santanello has 5 home runs, .338 BA, .375 OBP, 59 RBIs and 51 runs scored. He has played in 82 games.
