Monday, October 3rd , 2044
Led by an outstanding performance from starter Kevin Clark, the Oakland Oaks topped the Kelowna Heat today by a score of 3-0 at Andrew Wray Stadium. The 19-year-old Clark brought his top game to the mound, striking out 16 batters while allowing 2 hits and giving up 1 walk.
"He made a lot of good pitches out there," Heat manager Mitch Newhall said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes."
Clark has made 10 starts, tossed 115 innings, struck out 180 batters and walked 37. His record is 10-3 with a 2.58 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .193 batting average.
