McCormick Bangs 3 HR Against Palm Beach Saturday, October 8th , 2044 It was a good day for the Americus Braves and an exceptional one for Josh McCormick. The 19-year-old catcher sent three bombs out of the park to help the Braves beat the Palm Beach Nationals 14-5 at Palm Beach Ballpark. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," McCormick said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 3 hits in 5 at-bats. Josh McCormick hit a three-run home run off Josh Jenkins in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Josh Jenkins in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Josh Jenkins in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. So far this season McCormick has 63 home runs and a .347 batting average. |
