Miami Beach Wins 2044 World Series! Saturday, November 19th , 2044 With a 6-3 win over the Windy City ThunderBolts tonight at Miami Beach Stadium, the Miami Beach Marlins wrapped up their 1st title in team history. Miami Beach left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Marlins celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Miami Beach manager Jermaine Mitchell. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Miami Beach celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works. "We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Miami Beach Marlins," the mayor said. The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the Western League Central Division and a 105-27 record. |
