Top Pitcher Award Announced by EL Saturday, December 3rd , 2044 Jason Cheek is the latest Eastern League Pitcher of the Year Award winner. The Trois-Riveres starter really shone on the hill time and again and finished 2044 with a sparkling 17-5 record. In 28 starts, he fanned 212, walked 53 in 194.2 innings and posted a 2.22 ERA. Cheek held opposing hitters to a .222 batting average. He received 24 first place votes out of a possible 30. Brian Bailes of the London Majors finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Joel Pacheco of the Niagara Falls Phantoms finished third with 3 first place votes.
