Hit Streak Over, Hurricanes Stop Hort Tuesday, September 20th , 2044 Oregon State University Beavers right fielder Karel Hort finally met his Waterloo. A 22-game hitting spree is now history after Hort was unable to make anything happen in 4 at-bats today against the University of Miami Hurricanes. Fortunately for Hort and the Beavers, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game 4-3. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 22 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." For the season Hort has produced 38 hits in 106 at-bats for a .358 average with 4 home runs and gotten on base at a .424 clip. |
