Palau Socks It to Cornhuskers, Cracks 5 Hits Saturday, October 22nd , 2044 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Carlos Palau today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at McKethan Stadium and paced the Gators to a 15-8 win over the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers. After his dynamite batting performance, the University of Florida left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Carlos Palau doubled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th. In this current campaign Palau is hitting at a .353 clip with 7 home runs and 37 RBIs. |
