Strickland Keeps Hit Streak Alive Friday, December 2nd , 2044 With 1 hit at Phoenix Municipal Stadium today, Dan Strickland added another game to his hitting streak -- the University of Miami third baseman has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Hurricanes today, as they fell, 2-1, to the Arizona State University Sun Devils. "Frankly, I don't care about hits," Arizona State University manager Greg Kueny said later. "I'll let him get 3 hits in 3 at-bats if it means we get a win." Dan Strickland singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th and grounded out in the 7th. Strickland has collected 94 hits for the Hurricanes this year, 4 of them home runs. He has also netted 32 RBIs and scored 45 runs while batting .335. |
