Espino Pounds ORI Pitchers This Week Monday, December 12th , 2044 19-year-old Tomas Espino made a few University of Florida headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Division 1 officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 8 hits in 25 at-bats to put up a .320 average. Espino collected 5 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 7 runs. Looking at his stats this year, Espino has compiled a .317 batting average, while hitting 42 home runs and driving in 119 runs. He has played in 98 games and scored 79 runs. |
