Quakes Lose Again, 15-3, to Cardinals
|
No one was more impactful than Jasper Schoonhoven in the 15-3 Palm Beach win over Rancho Cucamonga. Schoonhoven, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in triples with 2, went 4 for 6 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Jorge Reynoso, the winning pitcher, is now 1-2. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 2. With the loss, Rancho Cucamonga falls to 4-16.
There was more than one reason the Cardinals beat the Quakes, but Schoonhoven's big at-bat in the top of the sixth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-3 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
"I like to lead by example," said Schoonhoven. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
