Blue Jays Prevail, 7-5, Over Minnesota
|
No one was more impactful than Mike Blair in the 7-5 Toronto win over Minnesota. Blair, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2029, was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Chase Schlong, now 3-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Bobby Wright finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
Toronto took a 6-5 lead on Dylan Novakowski's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Minnesota pitcher Bill Rondeau in the bottom of the seventh.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Blair after the game.
The win gives Toronto a season record of 20-16.
