Red Sox Earn 3-2 Win Versus Mariners
|
The Red Sox grabbed a win, 3-2, at Safeco Field, overcoming a fine effort from Seattle pitcher Larry Tuckfard. Tuckfard went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Earning his 2nd save for Boston was Adam Schneidewind. Boston raised its record to 23-12 with the win.
Boston used the timely hitting of Chris Lane to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Red Sox on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Lane. "And not try to do too much."
