Diamondbacks, Klasek Blast Giants, 10-1
|
The exploits of right fielder Eric Klasek, who finished 5th in the AL in wins above replacement with 7.3 in 2039, helped the Arizona Diamondbacks defeat the San Francisco Giants, 10-1. Klasek belted 3 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring three times. John Salzmann, the winning pitcher, is now 2-3. He went 8.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits, while fanning 8 and walking 3. The win puts Arizona at 25-19 this season.
In the first inning, Klasek had a 3-run home run for Arizona. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Diamondbacks on top, 5-0.
Klasek told a Arizona Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
