Tigers Take Down Yankees, 4-3
|
Detroit starter Ryan Sobocinski pitched well against the New York Yankees at Comerica Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. The win belongs to John McRight in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Francisco Rivas took the loss for New York. Detroit now has a record of 27-22 with the win.
The Tigers procured the win, in large part because of first baseman Chris Wheatley. In the bottom of the 14th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Wheatley said.
