Loss to Marlins Extends St. Louis Losing Streak
|
Miami and St. Louis duked it out and the Marlins came out victorious.
Miami shortstop Greg Herzig was a significant contributor in his team's 8-5 triumph over the St. Louis Cardinals. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Miami. Kyae-sung Che earned the save for Miami, his 5th of the year.
Miami used the timely hitting of Micah Christopher to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marlins on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Herzig told the Miami Herald.
This loss makes it 6 in a row for St. Louis.
