The Chicago White Sox topped the Detroit Tigers, 11-4, in American League action at U.S. Cellular Field. The standout performance belonged to Chicago pitcher and Machida, Japan, native Tadatoki Yoshida. The Tigers, at 27-26, have lost 4 straight games.
In the bottom of the third, Chicago designated hitter Cesar Herrera had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, Herrera stroked a 2-run single to left-center. It made the score 3-0, Chicago. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3.
"Tadatoki was Tadatoki," said White Sox manager Larry Stefanski. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
