The Houston Astros got a sterling performance from pitcher Prince Gibson, but the Chicago White Sox still prevailed, 5-2. Gibson threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Zach Ault converted his 9th save in 9 tries. With the victory, the White Sox upped their record to 38-17.
In the bottom of the first, Jack Christie delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Chicago first baseman hit a 2-run double, putting the White Sox in front, 5-2.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Chicago manager Larry Stefanski.
