Late Magic Gets San Francisco 5-3 Win
|
Starting pitcher Josh Lister pitched well enough to help the San Francisco Giants beat the Atlanta Braves, 5-3. Andrew Kindig got credit for the save for San Francisco. It was his 16th of the year. San Francisco now has a record of 29-28 with the win.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Sean Zielinski came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Atlanta pitcher Rich Ortega, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting San Francisco on top, 4-3.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Zielinski told the San Francisco Citizen.
