Boston used a superb performance from starting pitcher Justin Stinson to down the Oakland Athletics, 4-1. The triumph puts Boston at 36-23 for the season.

Robbie Rogers, the 30-year old designated hitter , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rogers contributed a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Boston up, 4-1.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Boston skipper Rob Diederichs.
